Robert works hard. Robert Delong doesn’t begin his show by walking out on stage, he runs out. He plays an awkwardly-mounted keyboard then runs over to a bank of controls to fiddle some knobs, then he runs over to a huge drum kit and plays that for a while. Then Robert Delong runs to the other side of the stage where a smaller stand-up percussion kit waits to get wailed on, and he wails on it. Robert Delong runs back to the keyboards and plays those for a while and dances furiously while he does it. Robert Delong is singing the whole time he’s doing these things, into microphones set up at each station, microphones he set up himself before the show. Behind Robert Delong is a huge video screen playing films directed and animated by Robert Delong, the images changing every two seconds. Robert Delong does not sleep; he lives only to create and perform. Somewhere, Robert Delong wrote six songs in the time it took you to read this review.
